Carrying out research at the intersection of biology and the physical sciences requires complex and multifaceted facilities. GEMSEC has been conducting such diverse and multidisciplinary research since its inception. Capabilities include: bacterial and phage growth, genetic engineering, peptide synthesis, functional and hybrid materials synthesis and conjugation, nanoinorganic materials synthesis and fabrication, molecular, structural, and functional characterization of materials.
